Leah M. Nelson began as Curator in June 2008. With her B.S. in Management Studies from Rockford College, she has been charged with managing the artifact collection of Veterans Memorial Hall. Leah has directed the Erlander Home Museum and continues to spend time at Midway Village Museum as part of their Education Department. Future goals for this site include creating programs for youth (including boy and girl scouts) and a traveling program for additional education goals.

Collections have been received since the hall was dedicated in 1903, and number several thousands. Photos of each item along with condition reports are being compiled to better preserve these precious items belonging to the people of Winnebago County.
